A lot of the jobs on the channel are done with help from mates, and some of them turn up again and again. Here's who they are.

Peddles (Dave). A good mate who's in more of the videos than anyone else. Renko sat on Peddles' mooring before her restoration, and he's been there for launching the Green Machine, the flood cleanup, the anchor winch, the awning and the perspex windscreen panel, usually being asked if he's excited. A few of the outboard videos, like the one that wouldn't crank, started with a problem on his boat.

Adrian. A Detroit Diesel mechanic, from 892 Trucking, who's worked on Detroits since he was 15. Adrian rebuilt Renko's Detroit 4-71, including the blower, governor and fuel pump, and he's in most of the Detroit Diesel videos, from diagnosing it to setting the injector heights.

Damien and Jess, Project Brupeg. Fellow steel boat restorers with their own YouTube channel, Project Brupeg. I took Renko up to Bundaberg to go on the hardstand next to them, and Damien helped with jobs like the new stainless bulwark pipes. A few of my parts and ideas, like the Vetus dual fuel filters, came from talking to Damien.

Paul. An old mate who's been on lots of trips and jobs, from anchoring a small boat and channel meetups to learning metal detecting together.

Pete. A mate who owns the Halvorsen 36 we towed from Sydney, and who put in a huge effort getting Renko back in the water.

Stewie. A mate who helps out on jobs, from running wiring to navigating.

Steve, Vintage Restorations Australia. A mate and conservator with his own YouTube channel, who made the timber bench for Renko.

Nick. A detectorist mate who taught Paul and me metal detecting, and who called us in to find a lost ring.

Eddie the Wonder Dog. My first mate in the early videos, and the dog in the intro. Eddie passed away during Renko's restoration. (AI Eddie, which answers questions on this site, is named after him.)

Daffy, Daisy and the D-Squad. The chickens (despite the names), who inspect most jobs at home and get their own updates at the end of some videos.
